I have been going through some pretty annoying style phases over the years, mostly doing Manga but just recently, I discovered a great love for Disney Animation. I am still unsure of if I want to be an illustrator or an animator, I have animated a few things and also done a 30 second animation for university, but after seeing some of the work and process that goes into Disney's animation, I just fell madly in love with it. There is just something about the style that really jumps out at me, it's so expressive and filled with life. Glen Keane's work is a fantastic example of what I mean, just his sketches alone have so much life and character' something I want to add to my drawings as I sometimes feel they can be a little artificial.
Just to clarify, I loved Disney before I have an animation eye for it. I just never really appreciated how amazing Disney's work really is.
I have been drawn a lot to animation and might have to pursue it. I know how much work goes into animation, especially something as fluent as Disney's animation, heck, the animation I am currently working on took me a full 2 weeks just to get 30 seconds of line art but it's all worth it in the end I feel.
Check out his work:
[link]Be warned, I may be doing a few sketches of faces and body poses in the coming few days as I want to practise a similar drawing style to this amazing person. Either this is a phase or this is going somewhere; I hope it's the latter.
